Hello, everyone. Welcome to my site.
My name is Luigi Benedicenti. I am a passionate computer geek: I love programming, software engineering, computers, video games, and everything IT. I also like to cook, play and create music, travel, e-biking, and life in general.
I am the Dean of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick.
The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick is amazing: excitement courses through every hallway and laboratory, faculty and staff are highly professional and extremely friendly at the same time, and students are dedicated, inspiring, and hardworking. I feel blessed to have been offered the chance to work in such a fantastic environment.
Some of My Past Experiences
Professor at the University of Regina
(1998 – 2017)
I started at the University of Regina as a Lecturer in 1998. Being in Regina was an unforgettable experience: I learned a lot, I was afforded many opportunities for growth and innovation, and I met many incredible individuals whom I’ll never forget. I was profoundly grateful for the chance to work at the Faculty of Engineering and in the President’s Office.
Member, Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board
(2014 – present)
I have volunteered for CEAB and Engineers Canada as often as I could. I started as a Program Visitor and then became part of the CEAB. In 2017, I became par of the Executive, and have been appointed Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair in the last few years. Being on a national accreditation board is an exciting and challenging experience and I am humbled by my colleagues, who always bring contributions of the highest quality.
